About University of Arkansas Little Rock
The University of Arkansas Little Rock was founded in 1927, as the Little Rock Junior College. In 1957, it became a private four-year university, until 1969, when it turned into a public educational institution again. The campus contains 40 buildings, including a library with a wide range of resources, spread on 150 acres. The university includes the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology, and the College of Science and Mathematics.
It is a part of the University of Arkansas System since 1969, and it has students from over 60 countries, more than 40 states as well as from all over Arkansas. Students are formed here in order to become effective citizens and capable in their future careers.

The Little Rock Zoo. It is considered to be a great escape from the city and a nice place to get in touch with nature. The Planetarium. The home of the Planetarium is University of Arkansas at Little Rock's campus. Visits can be arranged for schools, colleges and for anyone who is interested in space. It is the largest planetarium in Arkansas, containing a 40-foot diameter dome that can project thousands of stars at once. Children can participate in the special programs conceived for them. It is best to schedule a visit by calling in advance, because the time of the shows varies.
